OpenLearning has won the Premio Eccellenza Formazione (PEF) for Digital & New Technologies, awarded by the AIF, the Italian training industry association.

The prestigious PEF awards recognize excellence in training, with a view to promoting best practices in corporate education to promote organizational development and foster growth in human capital.
The award was presented by Emanuela Truzzi, AIF head of the PEF program, in the stunning setting provided by SERMIG—Arsenal of Peace in Turin.
OpenLearning and the Commitment of Digit’Ed
The PEF award is a recognition of Digit’Ed’s commitment to improve learning experiences and contribute to the spread of effective training methods, ushering in a new era in corporate education underpinned by greater openness, personalization, and innovation. OpenLearning is more than a training platform. It is an invitation to entirely rethink corporate education.
OpenLearning revolutionizes professional training by offering an interactive, personalized learning environment that enhances skills and engagement. The platform promotes upskilling and reskilling by providing innovative content for employees and advanced analytics for management.
“OpenLearning builds on the observation that, until a few years ago, the level of technology in workplaces was far more advanced than the technology we each possessed at home. Then the trend back-flipped with the wide-reaching spread of Internet connections and the advent of on-demand television, high-performance smartphones, and laptops accessible to all. That led us to think, why not take that trend to training, with an evolved platform packed with features and a user experience on par with what the big home entertainment players offer?” explains Antonino Ciacio, Digit’Ed Head of Technology.
OpenLearning is more than an e-learning platform. It is a comprehensive environment for the end-to-end management of corporate education—from the identification of training needs to the use of content and reporting, involving simple, easy-to-use processes. And it is designed to adapt to a continuum of workplace environments. The objective is two-fold: to improve operational efficiency and maximize employee engagement.
“The use of artificial intelligence enables us to create highly personalized training plans, just like Netflix does with its entertainment offering. When accessing the platform, learners can enter their interests and preferences, but input can also come from managers and HR. The system then goes on to create a personalized, custom-fit plan.”
A new app for smart TVs is due for release in 2024—a world first for a learning platform. With a view to becoming ever-more user-friendly, X-Box and Playstation apps are now in the pipeline for 2025.
